I guess you could say I've entered my "Art Girl Era." Growing up, I was immersed in the world of art thanks to my mom. She adorned our home with stunning artwork that celebrated our culture and heritage. Unfortunately, I never had enough wall space in my adult home to truly indulge... until now.
You see, my hardworking and talented (general contractor) husband transformed our modest 1300sqft cape cod into a spacious 3000sqft craftsman, and I couldn't be more thrilled to fill it with love and art. During the renovation process, I purchased prints from a couple of my favorite artists currently: the unique artistry of Cristina Martinez (known as Sew Trill on social media platforms) and the incredibly talented Bisa Butler.
Furthermore, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the art muses are tuning in -- I'd be over the moon to own an original piece from one of these awe-inspiring artists: Mafalda Vasconcelos, Arya Haliba, Robert Peterson, Rugiyatou Ylva Jallow, Akintomide, and Damilare Jamiu. However one afternoon, while indulging in my usual Amazon scroll session, I stumbled upon something truly delightful. It was a collection of stunning canvas art pieces by the talented artist Nikki Chu. Her creations embodied everything I had been searching for: vibrant colors, bold designs, unique patterns, and most importantly, beautiful depictions of black and brown faces. In my quest to adorn my walls with captivating art, Amazon wasn't initially on my radar. But lo and behold, here I am, pleasantly surprised by the treasure trove I discovered on this platform.
